National Public Health Week Film Festival 2012

EVENT RECAP:

The 8th Annual National Public Health Week Film Festival was a great success. This year, we had 1,052 attendees, a new week-long attendance record (2011 – 876 attendees). THINKING AHEAD:

Save the date for next year’s NPHW Film Festival – Apr. 1-5, 2013. Event details will be made public in January 2013. Until then, if you have any questions or comments, email mart1047@umn.edu.

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS:

Filmmakers: If you have a public health-related film, please submit your film by September 1, 2012.

  • Films must be 120 minutes or less
  • About a public health topic. Topic suggestions include: food or food deserts, agriculture, sexual health, health disparities, women’s health, urban health, bio-diversity, fracking, infectious disease, stress and mental health, aging, heart health, autism, and alternative forms of medicine.
  • Created or released no earlier than 2010
  • Submission open to everyone; amateur, student, or professional filmmakers

The festival committee reviews films in the Fall and determines the film schedule no later than November 1. Contact Nichole Axtman at mart1047@umn.edu or 612-626-9303 if interested in submitting your film.
